Bring on the Vocabulary
So language development is suddenly in full swing.
The girls repeat everything we say, and are remembering new words at an alarming rate.
They continue to say them in their own special way, of course, which I don't really realize until someone else is around and doesn't have a clue what they're saying.
And I'm terribly indignant about it too:
"For crying out loud, Nana, can you put on her socks already?"
"Oh, is that what 'santa' means? Silly me, I though it was a jolly old bearded fellow."
Of course, sometimes it's me that doesn't understand things that I'm sure our Nanny (the fabulous Zoriyana) would have no trouble at all interpretting. I'm not so indignant about that, though.
They're putting nouns and verbs together now too, which is fun, and speaking a little Greek. And Zoe says "I too" instead of "me too," which kills me.
Oh, and they're FINALLY starting to say each other's names on occasion. Eleni says "Zo--ee" very soft and slowly. And Zoe calls Eleni "Annie Baby," which kind of melts my heart.
But one is mad at her sister, it's still "No baby, No baby, No baby!"
They're still signing a bit too.
This can be a bit of a problem when we're not in the same room.
For example, when Zoe can't find Blankie in the middle of the night, she frantically pats her cheek and wonders why the heck we're not in there finding Blankie for her...
