Sleeping with the Enemy

I sent them in shrieking and laughing to wake up their father for Sunday pancakes.

Then it went suspiciously quiet.

10 minutes later, this is what I find...

Traitors!!!!

Eleni's shoe fetish

Kostas and I enjoyed a rare dinner out tonight, to which we were 10 minutes late because the blonde abducted my shoes.

It's a little frightening that she does better in heels at 2 than I did at 16.

Shockingly, our downstairs neighbors did not call the noise police on us.

Don't Panic!

Lest you believe otherwise, rest assured Eleni and Zoe have continued to do silly, ridiculous, funny adorable things these past couple of months.

The lack of documentation of said activities is the result of their mother's crazy schedule and is, regardless, unforgivable.

That said, she will begin backfilling as soon as possible.

Fortunately, her neglect has not been in recording said activities, simply in blogging about it.

More to come shortly, starting where we left off.

Apologies in particular to Lida, Aron and Jen.

The twin poker face

A good poker face is an essential twin skill if you want to stay out of trouble. Even more so if you want the blame to go to your sister.

Here you see Eleni's & Zoe's response to the question "Who dragged all these toys into the bathroom?"

And the responses:

Zoe: "Pardon me, did you say something? I was so busy being an innocent bystander I didn't hear you."

Eleni: "Bru-ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-haaaaaa"

Oh, Eleni, you've clearly got some work ahead of you in this department

Blackberries & phones

Ah, the digital age.

Eleni sends an urgent message on her blackberry while Zoe checks in with "Kosta."

Subtitle: "Hi Kosta, How are you, it's mommy."

Eloise has nothing on Zoe & Eleni.

Some Benefits of high-rise living:

Balloons for Alexandra

Eleni & Zoe celebrated the birth of their cousin by playing with some skinny balloons in the hospital lobby (since we didn't think quick enough to say they were her sisters and not her cousins.)

Also in the lobby was a nice lady making balloon animals for her daughter, who was kind enough to share generously with the girls.

Note the slightly different interpretation of "sharing" between the girls themselves, which somewhat typifies the Darwinian relationship of smaller and larger twin. Note, also, the rather jaunty, self-satisifed stride of a certain blonde who just happens to hold the larger collection.

Note also the fact that the smaller twin, as usual, makes lemonade from her lemon.

Welcome Alexandra!

Eleni and Zoe welcomed their newest cousin, Alexandra Marousis, today, adding a fourth to the Marousis girl-posse.

Mommy and baby are simply and utterly gorgeous.

TTLS

Zoe's punctuated rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star simply captures my heart.

It may just be a mommy thing.

Note that Eleni gives her performance "One foot up."

Little Mommy

Maternal instincts

Lately, Eleni has been showing off her maternal instincts, and more often than not can be seen carrying around her baby doll, or two little stuffed dogs (aka doggy and puppy).

Here, she's rocking the twins to sleep and singing a little song. Cute stuff.

We are hoping that her nurturing instincts will apply to us in our old age.

Bring on the Arts & Crafts!

I'm a sucker for arts and crafts, but haven't been able to do much in recent years.

At a recent visit to the Chicago Children's Museum, we discovered that the girls are in fact now old enough to get started in this area.
Weilding their little paintbrushes, they suddenly seemed so grownup...
I've stocked up on supplies and am ready to get creative...long live the arts and crafts years! May they continue for a good long time!

Team Summersault

In our house, summersaults require a team effort.
