Today, Eleni and I had a disagreement regarding the appropriate location for Zoe's shoes during a rides in the car.

That Penguin Toy

There was this plastic penguin toy that seemed to be in all the toy stores some 10-15 years ago. These little plastic penguins would mechanically "climb" a set of "stairs" one after another until they reached to top, slid down a little slide, and then started the process all over again.

Lately, that penguin toy comes to mind quite frequently during our visits to the playground with Eleni and Zoe.

Of special note:
1. Eleni's hair before and after going down the slide (did someone say static electricity?)
2. Zoe's sound effects heading back to the ladder.

Another first

Today Zoe and Eleni took their first trip through a revolving door. All limbs are still intact.

Happiness is...

...walking into the bedroom and discovering that all of the pillows are on the floor.






And then diving right in.


I actually remember this from my own childhood...and it was happiness indeed.

Eleni on the beach

Eleni's official verdict is in: The beach is good.


Even when it's cool and windy and the lifeguards won't let you near the ater because of the ginormous waves (you can see them in the background here.)


The beach is even better than good if you have a shovel and bucket.

Banjo Baby

This morning, a little banjo music brought out the joy -- and some "Thriller" dance moves -- in the Zoberator.

E & Z, Meet Lake Michigan

Today, Nana, Zoriyana and I took Zoe and Eleni to the beach for the first time. And by beach, I mean the sandy area where North Ave. meets Lake Michigan.

Seeing all that water made quite an impression. So much so that they both just stood and stared at it for quite a while.

And stood.

And stared.
