Vegetable Soup
My children are way more adventurous with food groups than I was.
Zoe is far pickier than Eleni, but even she outshines my childhood food adventurousness by leaps and bounds.
The girls love to sit on the kitchen counter and "help me cook." This means it takes twice as long to cook anything, because they need to help measure, pour, and stir every step of the way. And of course they need to taste all the ingredients to test them for freshness.
Fortunately, it also means that cooking is twice as fun.

Now here is a thought from someone who remembers--maybe you would have eaten more than hot dogs and frozen peas if you had been allowed to help in the cooking process????? Mmmmmmmmm I do remember once refusing to go out and buy special "Renee" hot dogs because you didn't like my Ukrainian, no additives kind.
At least I didn't ask you to get orange soda to dip them in too.
You may be interested to know that:
1. The girls love frozen peas.
2. The girls have never had a hotdog.
3. The girls and I had borscht for dinner two nights ago (thanks to Zoryana), and we all cleaned our plates.
4. We also had a Ukranian layer cake (a poor step-child to a seven-layer-Lida) for the Superbowl. Zoryana got me hooked. From the bakery though.
Yes, no hot dogs and I am impressed about eating borscht. Alas I no longer make seven layer cakes--both of us are trying to limit sugar in our diets. Mabe if we ate fewer torts in our previous life this would not be such a problem.
